Each year alcohol harm impacts youth across the country and in fact the globe. Last year we witnessed the Enyobeni and Hofmeyr tavern tragedies in the Eastern Cape where 23
children died in taverns. Observatory’s notable youth population is also impacted by the
country’s growing youth drinking challenges.
Young people that drink are more likely to have problems with school work and school
