There have been recent reports of muggings involving criminals entering Observatory in a vehicle.
1. It is important to remember to be conscious of other individuals when walking anywhere in public.
Be on the watch not just for people but cars.
2. Obs has license plate recognition cameras and this network has reduced crime and it is important to report all crime to OBSID as soon as possible and particularly to try to capture and report any vehicle registration numbers ASAP to help catch these type of criminals.
3. Open cases with SAPS this is vital in order to catch the criminals involved.
4. OBSID will walk with you.. * if you are ever stuck because it suddenly got dark or don’t want to walk alone along a particular stretch *call OBSID and their patrol guys will come and walk with you. (they cannot transport you in their vehicles)
