The Obs community’s monthly Liesbeek River cleanup team, in collaboration with the Friends of the Liesbeek, are appealing to local businesses for support towards our annual fundraiser Prize Giveaway. 🙏
The funds raised are used to keep the river and surrounds clean by contributing to stipends for FOL staff (who do the bulk of the heavy lifting), purchasing litter pickers to use, and maintain the environment. Any additional funds raised will go towards buying more indigenous plants to plant along the banks and in the wetlands.
Why should you sponsor a giveaway prize?

Digital tickets will be sold in November in the run-up to Streetopia, as well as in-person sales during our annual community festival. The prizes can be big or small – we’ll combine these into a hamper for the lucky winners.
