This is because our sewer pump stations need electricity to function effectively and convey sewage to Wastewater Treatment Works where it can be treated. We urge you to please log sewer overflows immediately, so they can be resolved in the shortest possible time.
What you can do to help:
- Ensure that stormwater downpipes on your property are not connected to sewer gullies or infrastructure
- Don’t flush anything other than human waste and toilet paper
- Check for illegal stormwater-to-sewer cross-connections on properties
- Report sewer blockages and overflows
- Report acts of vandalism
