Dear Neighbours,
The Observatory Civic Association (OCA) is your local Civic Association focused on supporting residents in Observatory with issues of culture, heritage, art, sport, architecture and of course the social issues facing us here in Observatory. We seek to represent the needs of residents, run activities that support our community and lift debates and issues affecting our neighbours to the relevant government and other platforms.
Together with the Observatory Improvement District (OBSID) who provide top-up services to the City of Cape Town, and the newly reconstituted ObsWatch (the neighbourhood watch), we are volunteers elected by members (signed up residents, businesses and NGOs operating in Observatory) who seek to support Observatory and our residents.
We are about to start our strategic planning for the next few years. We are looking for direction from residents as to what your interests and pressures are, how better to serve, and how best to provide a platform for more volunteers to be engaged in the community.
