Two links of interest below (following on the note I shared regarding King David Mowbray Golf Course ‘mixed use’ plans).
The first link is short synopsis from Voice of the Cape – regarding social housing development in Rondebosch.
The second link relates to heavy traffic congestion in Cape Town.
Any further development (and there are a few pockets identified), means increased traffic, this with proposed closure of Alexandra Road at Berkeley – does not bode well for emergency services and healthcare in these areas.
As they planned the public transport improvements for this year, and there has been very little success – public transport will not be viable for many years to come.
Pollution will intensify – including sound pollution which has huge impact on the environment!
Anyway – for those of you wanting to weave in more than just an “HIA comment”, this, added to Golf Course plans, all intensifies the arguments against current proposal.
