In the last census (2011), Ward 57 ( covering all of 11.3sq kms) revealed a total population of fractionally under 30 000
In the last municipal elections (2016), only 55% of the 19 396 registered voters cast their vote.
Of those, 75% voted for the DA leaving the ANC way behind with 11%, EFF 6% and 5 smaller parties accounting for 5%.
If all the registered voters had gone to vote, the results could had been very different. So if you don’t vote on Monday, then don’t complain if over the next 5 years things in Ward 57 are not managed the way you would like to see them being done.
