We invite the public to a free Zero Waste Living Masterclass on food waste and organic waste diversion and to visit the Waste Savvy Market, where various items made from recycled waste will be on display. The masterclass will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2024, in the Civic Center banquating Hall from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The aim is to raise awareness on organic waste diversion and support the commitment that all organic waste should be diverted from landfill – 50% by 2022 and 100% by 2027 – and to promote food waste avoidance.
Free composting bins will also be given out to members of the public to encourage them to start composting at home.
To apply for the compost bin, you will need to bring a copy of your municipal account; and your identity document or passport.
