THERE HAS BEEN A SIGNIFICANT SPIKE IN THE THEFT OF COPPER PIPES AND TAPS
OBSID has noted a spike in theft from houses and gardens of copper pipes and taps. This type of crime is increasing across South Africa, but there has recently been an increase in this type of theft in Observatory.
OBSID is urging residents to be extra vigilant and consider replacing visible copper. This will reduce frustration as well as the additional cost and damage caused by flooding water pipes.
Reporting crime to SAPS will reduce crime for everyone. We urge all residents to report any and all crime to SAPS as soon as possible.
